Starting from October 1, 2019, China will cancel the requirement of filing labels for imported pre-packaged food for the first time. The importer shall be responsible for verifying whether the Chinese label of its imported prepackaged food conforms to relevant laws, administrative regulations and national food safety standards. If the imported pre-packaged food is selected for on-site inspection or laboratory inspection, the importer shall submit its qualified certification materials, original and translated labels of the imported pre-packaged food, Chinese label samples and other certification materials to the customs officers. If there is an award, certificate to provide the relevant proof materials; Where the nutrient content is marked, certification materials of conformity shall be provided; Provide test report if gm is claimed in the label; Organic food provides organic product certification. If it is suspected of violating relevant provisions, it shall be verified and, once confirmed, dealt with according to law.
